Peniche is a very interesting city from a geological point of view due to its well-known cliffs. I met in this city with the teacher and dancer Bárbara Sampaio, born in Brazil, but currently living in Peniche. Naturally, one of the highlights of this session would be the cliffs along the coast. After that point of interest, we moved to the historic center of the city where we had the opportunity to make a more street dance shooting.
Peniche is a seaside municipality and it is located in Oeste Subregion in formerly Estremadura Province. The city was built on a rocky peninsula which is considered by geologists a unique example of the Toarcian turnover during the worldwide Early Jurassic extinction. The population in 2011 was 27,753 in an area of 77.55 km2. Peniche is known for its long beaches, which are popular for recreational activities and sports and is considered one of the best surfing locations in Europe. It annually hosts the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal from the World championship tour of the World Surf League (WSL) at the Supertubos beach.
Date of the session: November of 2019
